The Kurt Cobain Jaguar is Fender's production version of Cobain's heavily modified early-1960s offset, built for players who want a Jaguar body with almost none of the usual Jaguar electronics baggage. The defining details are the humbucker setup, Tune-o-matic-style hardware, short scale and stripped-down control scheme, all of which push it toward grunge and punk utility rather than vintage correctness. On the used market, finish, condition and originality of the pickup and bridge package do most of the work because buyers are specifically chasing the factory Cobain spec. Demand extends well beyond offset purists, so clean examples often hold stronger than comparable non-signature Mexican Jaguars.
