Fender American Original Jaguar
Aftermarket Price History
Used-market sales only. Brand New listings excluded.
Fender positioned the American Original Jaguar as a U.S.-made vintage-spec offset for players who wanted pre-CBS style without going all the way to Custom Shop pricing. Pure Vintage-era electronics, lacquer finishing, traditional switching and trem hardware, plus a more playable modern radius, separate it from both stricter reissues and hotter modernized Jaguars. On the used market, originality and setup carry more weight than cosmetic wear, because buyers want proof that the bridge and vibrato work correctly and that the guitar has not been hacked into something simpler. It is a player-first vintage-style Jaguar, and the strongest buys are clean, unmodified examples with the original case.

Market Report
Used examples typically trade between $1,850 and $2,175; anything under $1,850 is worth a close look. The market is predictable month to month.
This model rarely comes to market at ~3/month. When one does appear, expect less room to negotiate on price.
Condition has a moderate effect on price (~14% spread from clean to worn). Player-grade examples represent reasonable value.
Related models
Earlier U.S. vintage-spec reissue series: similar period-correct intent, typically a bit cheaper on the used market.
Modern-minded U.S. Jaguar at a lower price: better suited for gigging, without the vintage-reissue constraints.
The ceiling of the Jaguar market: master-built reissues for buyers who need execution beyond what production lines allow.
