Custom Shop Jaguars sit at the top of Fender's offset ladder, spanning everything from faithful 1960s recreations to relic'd artist-style builds and one-off spec sheets. What separates them from production Jaguars is not one single feature but the combination of lacquer finishing, higher-end fretwork, hand-selected woods and very specific pickup, neck and aging choices. On the used market, build sheet details weigh about as much as condition, and master-built provenance, rare colors and convincing vintage-correct specs carry the strongest premiums. Buyers here are choosing between boutique playability and collector appeal, so the paperwork carries nearly as much weight as the guitar.
