Aftermarket Price History

Used-market sales only. Brand New listings excluded.

The Kurt Cobain Mustang is Fender's production version of Cobain's heavily modified competition Mustangs, built for players who want short-scale feel with none of the usual low-output student-model limitations. The defining features are the humbucker-driven electronics, competition-inspired looks and stage-friendly hardware choices that push it far away from a stock 1960s Mustang. On the used market, color, condition and pickup originality drive most of the spread, because the model's value is tied directly to the factory Cobain recipe. Demand is broad and persistent, so clean originals usually trade stronger than ordinary production Mustangs.

Market Report

Used examples typically trade between $2,075 and $2,625; anything under $2,050 is worth a close look. Price variance is high — individual sales can move the market, so check recent comps before committing.

This model rarely comes to market at ~3/month. When one does appear, expect less room to negotiate on price.

Condition has a moderate effect on price (~12% spread from clean to worn). Player-grade examples represent reasonable value.
