The Kurt Cobain Mustang is Fender's production version of Cobain's heavily modified competition Mustangs, built for players who want short-scale feel with none of the usual low-output student-model limitations. The defining features are the humbucker-driven electronics, competition-inspired looks and stage-friendly hardware choices that push it far away from a stock 1960s Mustang. On the used market, color, condition and pickup originality drive most of the spread, because the model's value is tied directly to the factory Cobain recipe. Demand is broad and persistent, so clean originals usually trade stronger than ordinary production Mustangs.
