The American Vintage Jazzmaster line was Fender's serious U.S. reissue platform before American Original and Vintage II, built for buyers who cared about period-correct details more than modern convenience. Lacquer finishes, vintage hardware, era-specific pickup voicing and correct rhythm-circuit layout are the load-bearing features here, and they explain why these guitars sit above simpler player-focused offsets. On the used market, year-specific correctness and originality weigh nearly as much as condition, and changed bridges or rewired controls get punished more than normal finish wear. This is the lane for players and collectors who want a reissue that actually leans hard into Jazzmaster history.

Market Report
The AVRI Jazzmaster (1999–2012 production) trades as a collector instrument at $1800–$2400 for genuine examples in normal condition. The statistical floor in the data is distorted by a small number of mismatched records and should be ignored.
Condition sensitivity is high. Refinished, heavily modified, or non-original examples lose meaningful value — originality matters to the buyers in this market. Expect a slower transaction on both sides compared to modern production models; this is a smaller and more specific buyer pool.
