Fender American Original Jazzmaster
Aftermarket Price History
Used-market sales only. Brand New listings excluded.
The American Original Jazzmaster was Fender's U.S.-made vintage-leaning offset for players who wanted classic Jazzmaster identity with just enough modern playability built in. Pure Vintage-style pickups, lacquer finish, proper rhythm-circuit layout and old-school trem placement keep it grounded in 1960s Jazzmaster design, while the slightly more forgiving neck spec makes it easier to live with than a stricter reissue. On the used market, originality and setup carry more weight than small cosmetic wear, because buyers want a guitar that still delivers the exact reason this model exists. It is a player-oriented reissue, and clean, unmodified examples are the ones that stay strongest.

Market Report
Used examples typically trade between $1,625 and $1,925; anything under $1,600 is worth a close look. Some price variation month to month, but within a normal range.
This model rarely comes to market at ~3/month. When one does appear, expect less room to negotiate on price.
Condition has a moderate effect on price (~17% spread from clean to worn). Player-grade examples represent reasonable value.

Stricter year-specific reissue for collectors who want more precision than American Original offers, at a higher price.
Modern U.S. alternative at a lower price: Panorama trem and V-Mod II pickups — drops the reissue brief for stage practicality.
Very similar vintage-spec intent at meaningfully lower cost: worth knowing this market before committing to Am Original pricing.
