The J-45 True Vintage was Gibson's attempt to speak more directly to buyers who wanted period-minded J-45 character without entering the most expensive historic territory. That gives it a quieter, more connoisseur-driven market than the regular Standard. It performs best when the guitar still feels understated, dry and convincingly vintage-leaning in its response.
