Gibson Explorer 80s
Aftermarket Price History
Used-market sales only. Brand New listings excluded.
The Explorer 80s is very much a category of attitude: sharper, more period-coded and closer to what a lot of players actually picture when they think of an Explorer onstage. It attracts buyers who want that era's version of Gibson heaviness, not the museum version. The best examples still feel fierce rather than merely old.

Market Report
Used examples typically trade between $1,925 and $2,725; anything under $1,925 is worth a close look. Some price variation month to month, but within a normal range.
This is a slow-moving market at ~4/month. Sellers may wait longer for the right buyer; don't expect a quick flip.
Condition has a moderate effect on price (~16% spread from clean to worn). Player-grade examples represent reasonable value.
Related models
Earlier reissue at a similar price: more 70s period-correct spec — worth comparing before choosing an era.
High-end step up: Custom-grade appointments at a higher price.
The companion modernistic shape at a similar price: different body, same hard-rock 80s DNA.
