The American Vintage Telecaster line was Fender's serious U.S. reissue platform before American Original and Vintage II, aimed at buyers who cared deeply about period-correct Fender details. Lacquer finishes, correct bridge and pickup recipes, era-specific neck shapes and old-school hardware are the load-bearing features here, and they explain the stronger collector crossover compared with ordinary American Teles. On the used market, originality and year-specific accuracy weigh nearly as much as condition, while changed bridges, tuners or rewired controls get punished more than routine finish wear. This is the reissue lane for buyers who want a true vintage-style Tele without buying an actual blackguard.
