The American Elite Telecaster replaced the American Deluxe as Fender's premium modern U.S. Tele, aimed at players who wanted the company's most feature-rich factory design short of Custom Shop. Fourth-generation noiseless pickups, compound-radius neck shaping, truss-wheel adjustment and expanded switching make it a very different proposition from a vintage reissue or even an American Professional. On the used market, condition and originality of the electronics package drive the spread much more than finish rarity, because buyers are paying for the complete modern system. It is a working player's Tele, and the market rewards clean, factory-correct examples.
