The John Mayer Stratocaster stands out because it became one of the rare production signatures whose reputation outlived its original run and pushed used prices up rather than down. Big Dipper pickups, vintage-leaning specs and the Mayer association create a combination that feels more specific than a normal artist decal job, which is why buyers still track these closely. On the used market, originality is everything, especially around pickups and plastics, and cleaner examples with original case candy command real premiums. It is as much a cult-market Strat as a player guitar now, so condition and completeness count heavily.

Market Report
The John Mayer Signature Strat is a genuine artist collectible with prices reflecting that ($1899–$2550 range). Supply is constrained — these were limited in production runs — and demand from both players and collectors is consistent.
Condition and originality matter here more than on production Strats. A clean example with original case commands a real premium. Buying one well-used at $1900 and expecting to recover that on a quick flip is risky; buying as a player or long-hold collector is more defensible.
