Fender David Gilmour Stratocaster
Aftermarket Price History
Used-market sales only. Brand New listings excluded.
The David Gilmour Stratocaster is Fender's production take on one of the most closely studied player Strats ever, and its appeal is tied directly to that association. Active electronics, artist-specific pickup choices and hardware details modeled after Gilmour's working setup are what separate it from a normal black Strat with a different decal. On the used market, originality counts sharply because buyers want the exact Gilmour package, not a half-converted approximation, and complete examples tend to outperform modded ones by a meaningful margin. It appeals to serious fans and serious Strat players, which keeps demand steadier than on many signature models.

Market Report
Used examples typically trade between $5,425 and $8,775; anything under $5,400 is worth a close look. Price variance is high — individual sales can move the market, so check recent comps before committing.
This is a slow-moving market at ~4/month. Sellers may wait longer for the right buyer; don't expect a quick flip.
Condition matters here — worn examples sell for roughly 77% less than clean ones. Prioritize a good example if you plan to resell.

High-spec contemporary: similar vintage-player brief with different electronics and hardware details.
