The Player Mustang is Fender's modern, affordable short-scale model, built for musicians who want a compact Fender that behaves like a straightforward working guitar. A 24-inch scale, hardtail bridge and simple Player-era electronics make it more direct and less idiosyncratic than the classic slider-switch vibrato Mustangs it visually references. On the used market, condition and pickup originality do most of the work, while colors help only when the rest of the guitar is clean and complete. It is one of the easiest Mustangs to recommend to non-collectors, especially for players who want short scale without full vintage quirk.
