Gibson SG Custom
Aftermarket Price History
Used-market sales only. Brand New listings excluded.
The SG Custom is the SG trying on formal clothes, and it works best when it leans into that role without apology. Buyers come for the prestige version of the double-cut idea, not for a cheaper alternative to a Les Paul Custom. Because the model sells on appearance almost as much as sound, missing hardware, finish damage and muddled provenance hurt more than they do on a Standard.

Market Report
Used examples typically trade between $3,000 and $3,775; anything under $3,000 is worth a close look. Some price variation month to month, but within a normal range.
This is a slow-moving market at ~4/month. Sellers may wait longer for the right buyer; don't expect a quick flip.
Condition has a moderate effect on price (~12% spread from clean to worn). Player-grade examples represent reasonable value.
Related models
Lower-priced two-humbucker standard: the core SG brief without the triple-pickup and formal appointments.
Figured-top alternative at a lower price: AAA maple top and binding without the three-pickup Custom spec.
Master-built step up: hand-selected materials and Custom Shop execution beyond the production Custom.
