Fender Jim Root Telecaster
Aftermarket Price History
Used-market sales only. Brand New listings excluded.
The Jim Root Telecaster is a stripped, high-gain reinterpretation of the platform, built for metal and hard-rock players who like the Tele shape but not the traditional pickup recipe. Active or high-output humbuckers, minimal controls and hardtail stability are the defining traits, making it one of the clearest examples of a Tele body repurposed for a totally different musical job. On the used market, pickup originality carries more weight than almost anything else because the signature electronics are the whole value proposition. It is a niche but very clear concept, and clean originals usually sell to buyers who know exactly why they want it.

Market Report
Used examples typically trade between $1,025 and $1,225; anything under $1,000 is worth a close look. Some price variation month to month, but within a normal range.
This model rarely comes to market at ~4/month. When one does appear, expect less room to negotiate on price.
The market isn't particularly condition-sensitive (~11% spread). A player-grade example trades close to a clean one.
Related models
Other signature Tele with a humbucker: different approach — swamp ash, more tonal variety — worth comparing before committing.
Non-signature U.S. Tele at a lower price: conventional single-coil spec if the Jim Root brief feels like too much personality.
Master-built step up for players who want the stripped-high-output Tele brief with Custom Shop execution.
