The Strat Plus was Fender's high-spec late-1980s and 1990s production Strat, and it stands out because it was one of the first mainstream Fender attempts to build a truly modern premium factory Strat. Lace Sensor pickups, roller-nut hardware and locking tuners are the defining details, and they give it a clearly different identity from both vintage reissues and later American Standard models. On the used market, originality is critical, especially around the nut, pickups and hardware, because those parts are the whole reason this series has a reputation. It is a cult-modern Strat, and good original examples are increasingly appreciated.
