The Player II Stratocaster updates Fender's mainstream Mexican Strat with a more premium-feeling neck and a slightly more classic visual pitch, rather than rewriting the Player formula. Rolled fingerboard edges, the return of rosewood-board options and the familiar modern Strat hardware package give it a nicer feel than the first Player without moving it out of the practical working-player lane. On the used market, cleanliness and stock electronics carry more weight than rare finishes, because buyers are mainly comparing feel, condition and value against earlier Player models. It is a refinement, not a revolution, and that makes it easy to shop.
