The Mike McCready Stratocaster is Fender's production version of a battered early-1960s-style Strat associated with Seattle grunge, and its appeal is inseparable from that visual and musical context. Relic treatment, vintage-leaning electronics and artist-specific neck and pickup choices keep it squarely in the signature-replica lane rather than the generic reissue lane. On the used market, finish authenticity and complete original spec do most of the work because buyers want the whole McCready package, not a cleaner substitute.
