The American Elite Stratocaster was Fender's short-lived premium replacement for the American Deluxe, aimed at players who wanted a no-compromise modern U.S. Strat. Fourth-generation noiseless pickups, compound-radius neck shaping, heel-end truss adjustment and advanced switching make it one of Fender's most overtly contemporary production Strats of its era. On the used market, originality counts most around the electronics and hardware, because those upgrades are the whole point and aftermarket changes rarely improve resale. It remains a strong buy for players who want a high-feature Strat without paying Custom Shop money.
