Fender Modern Player Starcaster
Aftermarket Price History
Used-market sales only. Brand New listings excluded.
The Modern Player Starcaster was Fender's first serious attempt to bring the 1970s semi-hollow shape back as an affordable contemporary production model. Wide-range-style humbuckers, center-block semi-hollow construction and a modern neck spec make it more usable than the original cult classic while preserving the oversized offset headstock and body that draw buyers in. On the used market, originality and condition do most of the work, especially around pickups and hardware, because buyers are usually shopping the Starcaster recipe very specifically. It is a player piece rather than a collector piece, but clean examples remain attractive because the shape still feels distinct.
Individual Listings (Used Market)
Used-condition sales and current used listings. Brand New listings excluded.
Market Report
Used examples typically trade between $900 and $1,050; anything under $900 is worth a close look. Some price variation month to month, but within a normal range.
This is a slow-moving market at ~4/month. Sellers may wait longer for the right buyer; don't expect a quick flip.
Condition has a moderate effect on price (~22% spread from clean to worn). Player-grade examples represent reasonable value.
