Fender Vintage Mustang
Price by model year
This page covers vintage Mustangs from the model's 1964 launch through pre-2000 production, so it blends true 1960s student-model pieces with later Japanese and other player-grade eras that behave very differently on the market. Early competition finishes, clean pre-CBS examples and especially original 1960s guitars lead the category, while most later instruments are bought more for feel, color and condition than for collector status. On the used market, finish originality, trem completeness, slider-switch health and scale-specific buyer preference drive the spread, because Mustangs are often heavily played and frequently modified. The practical way to read this page is as a ladder from collectible 1960s pieces down to later working-player guitars, not as one uniform vintage Mustang tier.
