The Player II Jazzmaster is Fender's corrected version of the Player offset idea, moving back toward real Jazzmaster hardware and single-coil identity instead of leaning on humbuckers and simplification. Rolled fingerboard edges, Player Series Jazzmaster pickups and a proper floating-vibrato setup with Mustang-style saddles give it much more credibility with offset buyers than the earlier Player model had. On the used market, originality of the trem, bridge and pickups carries more weight than flashy finishes, because the spec mix is exactly why people seek this version out. It is a modern Jazzmaster for players who still want recognizably Jazzmaster behavior.
