Fender I Coronado
Fender introduced the Coronado I in the late 1960s as a fully hollow answer to the Gibson and Guild thinline market, and the single-pickup version is the simplest, most stripped-down take in that short-lived line. Its fully hollow laminated body, floating hardware and lone DeArmond-style pickup make it feel more like a Fender-designed archtop than a dressed-up solidbody. On the used market, neck angle, binding condition and originality of the bridge, tailpiece and pickguard carry more weight than routine play wear, because missing Coronado parts are harder to replace than finish chips. It appeals to players who want vintage Fender oddball value rather than a pure collector piece.
